Designed by seasoned performers and teachers, NMS Summer Brass Week meets the unique needs of young players through a fun week of music-making. Students participate in ensemble, one-on-one instruction with a Teaching Artist, sessions highlighting instrument specific music and musicians, and creative activities to build technique and musicianship. Students will gain confidence, skills, and a supportive community of fellow horn and brass players!

For students entering grades 6-9 with at least one year of experience with their instrument.

DATES AND HOURS

All three clubs will come together for a final concert on  Friday, August 16, 2024 at 11:30am

  • Art Hovey, tuba performer and NMS teaching artist

*with additional support from high school mentors

STUDENT AGE AND PRIOR EXPERIENCE

NMS Brass Week is designed for students entering grades 6-9 with at least one year of experience playing their instrument. Students entering grade 5 and/or students who do not have a year of playing experience may be admitted with permission of the teaching artists. We welcome these inquiries!

PLACEMENT EVALUATIONS

Everyone will play together and perform regardless of incoming playing level or prior experience. Students do not need to submit an audio or video recording for placement.

TUITION

Tuition is $250.
