Student of Svitlana Fiorito
Jeffrey Liang, a 9th grader from Daniel Hand High School in Madison, hasbeen playing piano since the age of five and has been studying with Ms. SvitlanaFiorito for over six years. He previously studied with Ms. Michelle Zingale andMs. Eva Virsik. Previously, Jeffrey received the 1st Prize and Gold Medal in the2018 Suzanne Culley Competition as well as the title of Special Award at boththe 2018 and 2019 CSMTA Deborah Kahan Competitions. He was awarded2nd prize and Silver Medal at the 2018 Steinway Piano Competition, and in the2018 Schubert’s Club Awards, received 1st Prize in both the J. S. Bach Primaryand Chopin Primary. In 2019, he won 1st Prize at the Fifth Annual J. Y. ParkPiano Competition. He was also the recipient of 1st Prize and BestPerformance of a Commissioned Work in the Elementary/Middle Schooldivision at the Renée B. Fisher Competition in 2019. Finally, he was the winnerof the 2021-2022 CT MTNA Competition Junior Performance. When he is notplaying piano, Jeffrey enjoys playing violin, composing his own music, andreading. He also loves competing on his school’s robotics team.
