The program is designed to provide young dancers the opportunity to explore their passion, creativity and to communicate about what is important to them through collaborative choreography. The dancers who are chosen for this program will be held to high standards with expectations including a commitment to taking classes in different dance genres, collaborating in the creation of choreography and performing multiple times a year in. The NMS Junior Dance Company members will attend at least 1 hour of technique classes per week plus a 60-minute Repertoire Workshop. Course opportunities include but are not limited to: ballet, tap, modern dance, and hip-hop. The intention of this program is for the company members to gain confidence and experience to communicate through the art of dance.
