Dance Department

The Dance Program at Neighborhood Music School provides a nurturing environment for dancers of all ages and skill levels, enabling them to reach their full artistic potential and learn life lessons through the arts via our one-of-a-kind Collaborative Choreography Initiative. Students in the NMS Dance Program are creative, open-minded and curious.

Through a wide range of class offerings, students increase their kinesthetic awareness, their ability to analyze and articulate movement, their confidence and their ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others.

Performance is an important progression in the study of dance: students do this through informal classroom showings and formal stage presentations. Additionally, NMS offers movement and fitness-based classes with an artistic and creative focus for those seeking increased physical performance, fitness health and quality of life.

Please note: some dance classes are closed to new enrollments mid year as the students begin work on collaborative choreography for their spring concert.
