Lunarfest is a celebration of the Lunar New Year and Chinese culture, offering arts and cultural programs for adults and children throughout the city of New Haven and at Yale. Special events are programmed in January and February, but save the date for the big day on Saturday, February 16, 2019, which kicks off with a parade at 10:00AM down Whitney Avenue and Audubon Street (between Grove and Trumbull Street). Then head indoors to visit many or all of our venues with special activities and programs featuring food, art, music, literature, and dance.

Celadon Youth will present a delightful program featuring a variety of Asian classical wind and pluck instruments. To celebrate the Lunar New Year, the theme for this program, 歌舞昇平, will be focusing on the music played for the songs and dances performed during a peaceful era where families and friends can get together to enjoy the round moon, flourishing flowers, and fine food and drinks. Celadon Youth is a non-for-profit musical and theatrical performing arts group formed in 2006. The mission of Celadon Youth is to share the beauty of ancient Asian music and art forms with our local communities."
