Teodora Pejašinović Proud is an active performer and educator. Originally from Sarajevo, she completed her undergraduate studies at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, Serbia. In her second year of study she attended the Academy of Music in Ljubljana, Slovenia, as a scholarship recipient. Teodora earned a Master of Music in Oboe Performance from the University of Arts in Belgrade. She then became a member of the Montenegro Symphony Orchestra and was the Oboe Professor at the Music School of Tivat.

Teodora later moved to the United States to pursue an Artist Diploma at Columbus State University, and most recently completed her Doctorate of Musical Arts in Oboe Performance at the University of Alabama, where she was a Graduate Teaching Assistant. While there, she worked for the University of Alabama’s Community Music School, where she prepared students for successful auditions at Regional, All-State, and Honor Band and Orchestra festivals. With her husband, Joseph Proud, she is currently commissioning new pieces for Oboe and Saxophone, and has performed at many conferences, including the International Double Reed Society Conference in Granada, Spain, the North American Saxophone Alliance Biennial Conference in Cincinnati, Ohio and many others. She presented her Doctoral research on Benjamin Lees’ Oboe Concerto at the IDRS Conference 2019 in Tampa Bay, Florida.
