Award-winning writer/director of both stage and film, Stephen Dest has worked at a number of prominent theaters along the way, including: Long Wharf, Yale Rep, Seattle Rep, TheaterWorks, Goodspeed Opera House, Coconut Grove Playhouse, the Kennedy Center, Boston Theatre Company, Vital Theater, Manhattan Theatre Company, PaperMill Playhouse, the Shubert and the Nederlander.
Along with his various stage work, Stephen has also produced a couple of noteworthy film projects. He is the writer/director of the award-winning film "Blind" (Cannes Film Festival - 2008), and most recently he wrote and directed "My Brother Jack." He was awarded best filmmaker at the 2013 Philadelphia Independent Film Festival for "My Brother Jack."
Stephen Dest is the recipient of the "Artist of the Year" (2012 - filmmaker) awarded by the Arts Council of Greater New Haven. Stephen is a guest lecturer at numerous stage and film programs around the country.
