Shila Rahmani Coutard

Shila Rahmani Coutard experienced and enthusiastic teacher with a Bachelor of Education focused in Pedagogic, Psychology, Fine Arts and German from the Pädagogische Hodiscuule Heidelberg in German. She is a motivated and student oriented educator, skilled in language teaching, curriculum development and classroom management.

Shila has worked with young learners for several years. She taught as a head teacher at KinderHaus – German Immersion School in Brooklyn, New York for about 2 years and is currently teaching German at the Goethe-Institute New York in Manhattan on weekends. Before moving to the states, Shila also worked with children from migrant backgrounds in Germany.

Shila loves to view the world through the eyes of a child: curious, open minded and enthusiastic to discover and to learn. She believes that children are wiser than adults dare to imagine, and that they only need them as trustworthy companion on their adventures journey of discovery, play and learning. As a teacher, Shila sees her role as a companion, a protector and a friend. Her duty is to provide a safe and loving place where children can thrive and accomplish their milestones step by step.
