Born in 1994, Ryan Sands is an up-and-coming artist hailing from Orange, CT. He’s had the pleasure of performing alongside many musicians such as Dave Holland, Nick Smart, Phil Markowitz, Dominique Eade and George Garzone just to name a few. He’s played at various venues and festivals in the Untied States. Some of those venues include Mezzrow in New York, Green Mill in Chicago, Blues Alley in D.C., Central Ave. Jazz Festival in California, and Scullers Jazz Club in Boston.
Ryan has played internationally at Jazzhus Montmarte in Denmark and the Panama Jazz Festival. He’s received his Bachelor’s of Music degree from New England Conservatory in 2016. While attending NEC he studied with Billy Hart, Bob Moses, Jerry Leake, Cecil McBee, Fred Hersch, Miguel Zenon, John McNeil, and Jason Moran.
Now, he’s currently in pursuit of his Master’s Degree from Manhattan School.
