Linda Hinz began formal classical piano studies at age 5. She received BA and MM in piano performance and pedagogy with several years of studies at Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University. Her primary mentor is Dr. Pawel Checinski, a Fullbright scholar to Juilliard and student of Claudio Arrau. Learning from his artistry, Linda was able to find the real joys of engaging students to help them find their inner passion in music. Students from her studio have won scholarships and have consistently rated highly in festivals and competitions, including winning Connecticut State Awards of Excellence and invitations to perform in Carnegie Hall with the Music Development Program.

In addition to her degree recitals, Linda has performed as a soloist throughout southern Rhode Island and southeast Connecticut. She has worked as a collaborative artist for University of Rhode Island, Connecticut College, and Rhode Island National Association of Teachers of Singing (RI-NATS). Linda has evaluated piano juries and piano proficiency exams as well as adjudicated piano competitions and music aptitude exams. Linda is currently the state treasurer for Connecticut State Music Teachers Association (CSMTA) and president of the Middlesex-New London Chapter of MTNA. In addition to her home studio, she is also employed with Thames Valley Music School in New London, and with Neighborhood Music School in New Haven/Guilford.
