Karen has been the Artistic Director for the Blue Hills Theatre, a summer educational theater company in Hamden, CT, since 2007. She holds a B.M. from the Hartt School of Music and is a certified teacher of music and theater in the state of Connecticut. Karen studied acting with John Roddick at the John Houseman Theatre in NYC, dance with the Hartford Ballet, Phil Black, and Jeri Garner of NYC and voice with Gayle Swymer, Arthur Koret, and Edwin Gray. Karen made her Carnegie Hall debut with the Euterpean Choral Ensemble. Her regional/stock theater credits include appearances at Ulster Performing Arts Center, Shawnee Playhouse, Colonial Theater, Montclair Operetta Club and the Fredericksburg Theater Company. Her favorite roles include the title role in Mame (Equity Guest Artist) Grace Farrell/Star To Be in Annie, Anna Held in Tintypes and Mabel in Pirates of Penzance. Some of Ms. Williams’ director/choreographer credits include the premier of A Circle of Friends at the Duplex in New York City and Starting Here, Starting Now and Little Shop of Horrors at Fairfield University in Connecticut. Karen’s most recent choreography was seen in Hamden High School’s Mainstage Theatre productions of Addams Family and Oklahoma! Ms. Williams currently performs with the vocal group The Quintessentials of New Haven, CT.
