Don is a creative music instructor and enjoys playing many styles of guitar.
Originally a student of the clarinet, Don's true passion was for the guitar. His first guitar teacher was Guy Santo of North Haven where he completed the 9-book Alfred Sight Reading Method. After that he went on to study at the Famous Musicians School in Westport, CT and studied jazz theory with Jay Fredericks a graduate of Julliard. Jay took a handful of his students to early Muzak recordings at RCA with Dick Hyman conducting.
Don continued to broaden his horizons by studying rock and blues technique with Dave Hart (Berklee School of Music), Joe Belmont (Amherst College) and Tony Lombardozzi. Don then pursued advanced jazz harmony with Grammy award-winning guitarist and composer Joe Beck of Wilton, CT.
