Dance Classes for Youth

Explore our wide range of dance programming, including ballet, modern, tap, creative dance and jazz. Classes are available for children and teens of all levels. Have fun and make new friends in our warm and friendly dance community!

Corrective Exercises / Injury Prevention Workshop

This class is open to all humans that move their bodies (everyone), and will be helpful for active bodies to hone in on imbalances that may be impeding performance and/or learning how to prevent future injuries. With guidance from Alexis Robbins, NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist, BS in Exercise Science, and 5 years as a personal trainer, students will learn how to identify weak and/or tight muscle groups, habits that may be causing pain or tightness, strengthening and lengthening exercises and stretches, as well as basic self-myofascial release (foam rolling and ball work) techniques. The goal of this class is to have a better understanding of how to take care of our bodies in order to live long healthy lives as movers and people.

Creative Dance

Creative Dance is a pre-modern dance class for children with the ability to sustain 40 minutes of focused activity. Children will discover creative expression and experience the fun of exploring the elements of dance: shape, size, speed and levels in space.

Family Dance Class

This is an interactive class of movement, basic dance fundamentals, and play for the entire family. Includes the basic foundation of pre-ballet/ballet for ages 3-6 yrs, while the entire class is applicable and enjoyable for the entire family.

Class will be a hybrid of pre-ballet technique and center floor warm up; the other half of the class will be creative and improvisational through storytelling, props, ideas, pictures, etc.

Tap Dance

Learn basic steps and rhythms, and how to use them in fun and challenging combinations. Most youth and adult classes will be part of the Collaborative Choreography Initiative, where basic choreography techniques will be introduced. (Students in the Spring session will have an opportunity to create a dance piece and perform in a year end dance concert).


Ages 18 - adult. Amrit Yoga classes for health and stress management. An integrative approach to postures (asanas), breath work (prana) and holistic lifestyle are presented to help manage life’s daily challenges. All levels are welcome. Please bring a yoga mat and a light shawl or blanket and wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing.
