Chamber Music Ensembles for Adults

Ensembles experience is often one of the most rewarding and valuable aspects of music study. Our Chamber Ensembles gives adult musicians the chance to play with other talented musicians, hone rhythmic and listening skills and perform in ensemble recitals! With a variety of musical styles to choose from, you’ll find just the right fit.

Adult Flute Choir

A great opportunity to play repertoire exclusively written for a flute choir which utilizes piccolo, alto, and bass flutes. For intermediate to advanced players with ability to read music required.

Neighborhood Noyse – EOW

The Neighborhood Noyse explores the wonderful repertoire played by instrumental ensembles in the towns, courts and chapels of Renaissance Europe. (A group of musicians at this time was sometimes called a “Noyse.”) The ensemble was created for intermediate to advanced players of recorder, viola da gamba and lute, who are experienced in sight-reading one-on-a-part. Players of modern instruments like violins or guitars will be considered for the class after consultation with the instructor.

These large ensembles of adult string and wind players and pianists will explore repertoire encompassing four centuries. Evening rehearsal times allow working adults an opportunity to experience the joy of collaborative music making in a supportive environment. Some basic sight-reading skills are necessary.
