Preschool Art Show – Friday, April 6 – 20
Young Artists and Their Work is our annual Preschool & Toddler fundraiser. This is an exciting event for our preschool students have an opportunity to share their work with family, friends and all who walk through NMS! Visit the Preschool Art Gallery in Larry’s Space starting April 6th!
Faculty Concert Series – “It’s Your Lucky Day” – Friday, 4/13 – 7:00 pm

NMS Faculty Ragtime Ensemble: Chris Radawiec, flute; Reesa Gringorten, clarinet; Ravenna Michalsen, cello; Joe McWilliams, piano; Art Hovey, tuba and guest Gretchen Frazier, violin. Works by Scott Joplin, Joseph Lamb, Jelly Roll Morton and Turk Murphy.
sFOURzando – 8 Hand piano, featuring Vicky Reeve, Margaret Ann Martin, Laura Richling, and guest George Melillo. Works include Burlesque by Brian Chapple.
Sub-Verse at NMS – Saturday, 4/14 – 7:30 pm
Admission: $10 at the door. NMS Recital Hall.
NMS Faculty Member István Peter B’Racz will be featured alongside other international artists in a 10-year retrospective of Brooklyn record label Music Starts From Silence (MSFS). B’Racz will premiere new music, including collaborative works with Tom Burnett (NYC) and Thomas Kozumplik (NYC), as the electric trio Sub-Verse. Loop 2.4.3. Padma Newsome (AUS), and special guest Rachael Elliott (GER, bassoonist for Clogs, the improvising chamber ensemble started in New Haven in 2000) fill out the program.
Alexander Technique Workshop – Sunday, 4/15 – 11:00 am – 4:30 pm
A masterclass in the Alexander Technique for musicians, with Rachel Bernsen, M.AmSAT.
Alexander Technique has been studied worldwide for over one hundred years. It is an effective way to solve physical problems that interfere with the complex coordination of playing an instrument, and of singing. $135 per student (8 students max). Students should be at an intermediate level of proficiency or above on their instrument. No previous Alexander Technique experience required.
NMS Rock Ensembles at Rock to Rock – Saturday, 4/28 – 8:30 & 11:00 am
NMS Rock Ensembles will preform during the 10th Annual Rock to Rock Earth Day Ride.
8:30 – 10:00 am at Common Ground High School in West Rock.
11:00 am – 2:30 pm on the Main Stage at East Rock Park.
